Understanding Cervical Spondylosis
Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative condition of the cervical spine (neck region) caused by wear and tear of the vertebrae, discs, and ligaments. It is increasingly common in younger adults due to prolonged screen use and poor posture — often called "tech neck." In Ayurveda, it is classified as Greeva Stambha (neck stiffness), primarily caused by aggravated Vata dosha that dries out the intervertebral discs and reduces the cushioning between vertebrae.

- Avoid: Cold, dry, and raw foods that aggravate Vata — cold salads, crackers, popcorn, carbonated beverages, and excessive caffeine.
- Hydration: Drink warm water throughout the day. The intervertebral discs are 80% water — dehydration directly contributes to disc degeneration.
Wisdom from the Ancient Texts
Thiruvalluvar speaks of the importance of proper conduct and posture:
"Udambar azhiyadhu aaga vazhipaddu, udambin vazhiyaaga uyir vazhipaddu"
(Kural 940) — "Guard the body from deterioration, for through the body's wellness, the soul finds its path."
