Guruma Sugatha Andiappan
Smt. Sugatha Kumari Andiappan is a revered yogini, author, and an instrumental pillar in the propagation of traditional yoga, specifically tailored for women's health and wellness in South India.
As a key figure alongside her husband, the late legendary Guruji Dr. Asana Andiappan, she has dedicated her life to breaking barriers, ensuring that the transformative benefits of yoga are accessible to women across all stages of life.
She developed and curated specific yoga techniques focusing on women’s wellness, period health, and prenatal care. Her work has been instrumental in promoting yoga as a natural healing tool for common conditions such as anxiety and hormonal imbalances. Her expertise is documented in her authored books on yoga for women’s health, published in both Tamil and Malayalam.
She was instrumental in establishing free yoga awareness projects in Chennai, particularly for women over 40 and children, honoring the philosophy that yoga should be available to everyone.
Working hand-in-hand with Guruji Andiappan throughout his illustrious journey, Sugatha Andiappan was the backbone of the Asana Andiappan College of Yoga & Research Centre in Chennai. Her approach combines traditional values with practical, therapeutic sequences. Her passion and dedication have made her a beloved figure among students, and she continues to inspire a generation of women to take control of their health, mental balance, and inner strength through yoga.She is widely recognized as a nurturing master who empowers women to lead a calm, confident, and yogic lifestyle.
