Syllabus

1

Module 1 – Foundations of Safe Inversion Practice

This module builds a strong foundation in inversion anatomy, alignment, and safety. Students learn how the shoulders, neck, core, and wrists work in inversions and how to warm up and prepare the body step by step. You will explore key progressions for headstand, shoulderstand, forearm balance, and handstand, developing strength, mobility, and confidence before going fully upside down.

2

Module 2 – Core Inversion Poses and Variations

This module focuses on the primary inversion asanas and their core variations. You will learn how to move from basic preparations into half and full expressions of shoulderstand, headstand, forearm balance, and handstand using the wall, props, and partner support where needed. The emphasis is on building intelligent progressions, understanding active versus passive inversions, and choosing supported or unsupported options for different body types and experience levels.

3

Module 3 – Modifications, Supports and Teaching Skills

This module refines your teaching methodology for inversion yoga. You will study modifications for common limitations (neck, shoulder, wrist, balance issues) and how to offer effective supports with the wall, blocks, straps, and other props. You also learn safe transitions in and out of inversions, creative variations, and hands‑on assisting techniques so you can guide students confidently in classes, workshops, and private sessions.

4

Module 4 – Safety, Falling Techniques and Class Integration

The final module brings together practice and teaching skills with a strong focus on safety, falling techniques, and counterposes. You will learn how to train students to exit or fall out of inversions safely, how to sequence grounding and cooling counterposes, and how to demonstrate inversions clearly without straining your own body.

By the end of the course, you will be able to design full inversion‑themed yoga classes and teach advanced inversion practices with clarity, care, and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to already be good at inversions to join this course?

No. You do not need to be able to do headstand, handstand, or other advanced inversions before joining. The course is structured to take you from foundational strength and alignment work through safe progressions, so you can gradually build confidence in your own practice.

Will this training help me teach inversions safely to different levels of students?

Yes. You will learn detailed alignment principles, step‑by‑step preparations, modifications, and the use of props and wall support, as well as how to teach transitions, spotting, and safe falling techniques, so you can guide beginners and more experienced students in a safe, systematic way.

Are there any contraindications or people who should avoid this inversion course?

Yes. If you have serious neck, shoulder, or wrist injuries, you should first discuss your condition with our faculty teacher to confirm whether you are eligible to join this course. You will also learn how to recognise such contraindications in your own body and in your future students and how to offer safer alternatives and variations for inversion practice.
