Andiappan Yoga’s 200-Hour Intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course (Basic to Intermediate Level) is thoughtfully designed for yoga practitioners, enthusiasts, and aspiring teachers who wish to deepen their understanding of yoga and refine their practice. Mode of Learning:

1) Yoga Theory and Practical: 80 hours
2) Group Practice Classes: 40 hours
3) Andiappan Yoga Classes: 45 hours (30 sessions)
4) Assignments, Self-Study, and Yoga Research/AI: 20 hours
5) Group Discussion and Teaching Practice: 6 hours
6) Teaching Assistance and Class Observation: 15 hours

Total Duration: 206 Hours

Point 1: The Yoga Theory and Practical sessions will commence according to the batch you have enrolled in and will be conducted as per the scheduled batch timings. These sessions comprehensively cover both the theoretical and practical components of the course syllabus. Group Practice Classes (40 Hours): Recommended Classes List

These classes help students understand the various styles and lineages of yoga while supporting consistent practice throughout the training. Students can interact with teachers after each session, receive personalized feedback, and gain practical guidance to refine both their practice and teaching skills.

Andiappan Yoga Classes (30 Sessions / 45 Hours):

These specialized master classes are an integral part of the training, offering deeper engagement with the syllabus poses and self practice. Students gain clarity, overcome limitations, and build the confidence to teach. The sessions also guide students in developing structured sequences for personal practice and future teaching.

Point 4: Assignments, Self-Study, and Yoga Research/AI (20 Hours):

Students will receive complimentary access to the Yog.live AI platform, designed exclusively for YTT participants. This advanced learning tool, developed by our founder Dr. Yogananth Andiappan, enables students to explore and research a wide range of yoga-related topics in depth. It supports a deeper understanding of yoga science and its practical applications, enhanced through modern technology.

Point 5: Group Discussion and Teaching Practice: 6 hours

These online sessions provide students with the opportunity to teach in small groups and gain practical experience ahead of the final assessment. They offer a supportive environment to build confidence, refine teaching skills, and engage with fellow trainees, fostering a strong sense of community. These sessions are conducted regularly, with students from different ongoing course batches participating together. This allows for meaningful exchange of feedback, shared learning, and continuous improvement in teaching practice and skills.

Point 6: Teaching Assistance and Class Observation: 15 hours

Yoga teaching is truly complete when it is shared with those who need it most. Students are encouraged to observe, assist, and teach alongside the volunteer teachers of Andiappan Yoga Community (AYC), one of Hong Kong’s largest non-profit yoga organizations, with opportunities to continue volunteering after graduation.

Group Practice Classes, Andiappan Yoga Classes, and teaching observation sessions are available both online and in-studio, allowing students to learn either at the studio or from the comfort of home.

Accreditation and Affiliation:

Asana Andiappan College of Yoga and Research Centre, is internationally recognized for its significant contribution to yogic science. Founded in 1950 by Guruji Dr. Asana Andiappan, the institution is guided by senior teachers and trust members with over five decades of experience in yogasana and naturopathy.

The college is affiliated with respected organizations including the International Yoga Academy (Hong Kong), Vedic Wellness University (Florida), the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), and Yoga Alliance (USA). Certification:

All students who successfully complete the course will receive a certification with lifetime validity, qualifying them to teach basic to intermediate level yoga classes worldwide. Yoga History and Introduction Module

In this module, students will explore the origins and development of yoga, along with an understanding of its various styles and lineages. The course also introduces the fundamentals of meditation and concentration.

Practices such as relaxation, contemplation, and meditation are covered through both theoretical study and guided practical sessions.

Yoga Anatomy Module

This module offers a clear and practical understanding of yoga anatomy, focusing on how the body moves and functions during asana practice. Students will learn in a highly functional and applied manner, guided by experienced yoga masters with deep knowledge of both yoga and human anatomy.

Emphasis is placed on safe practice, alignment, injury prevention, and adapting postures to suit individual needs.

Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha, and Kriya Module

This module introduces the essential yogic practices of breath control (pranayama), energy seals (bandhas), hand gestures (mudras), and cleansing techniques (kriyas). Students will learn both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of these techniques, guided by experienced teachers to ensure safe, effective, and progressive practice.

Emphasis is placed on understanding how these practices influence energy flow, enhance concentration, and support overall physical and mental well-being.

Asana Practice Module

This module focuses on the practice of various yoga postures, including proper warm-up techniques, alignment, and safe execution.

Students will learn how to modify poses, use props effectively, and provide clear verbal guidance (narration) while teaching.

Emphasis is placed on identifying individual limitations and progressively sequencing postures according to the student’s level, ensuring a safe and effective practice for all.

Teaching Technique Module

This module focuses on developing essential teaching skills, including class structuring, clear communication, demonstration, and student observation.

Students will learn how to give effective instructions, adjust for different levels, and create safe, engaging, and well-sequenced yoga classes with confidence.

How do online practical sessions work?
