Course Overview

300-hour Intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course (Intermediate to Advanced Level)

Develop your practice and teaching skills through onsite study at Andiappan Yoga in Chennai, India. The 300-hour Intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course (Intermediate to Advanced Level) focuses on intermediate to advanced practice, combining guided asana training with anatomy, alignment, modifications and teaching methodology.

The course is designed for regular yoga practitioners and yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of Hatha yoga and teach with greater clarity. Its three-level curriculum builds progressively towards more demanding postures and thoughtful class design, with attention to individual ability and safe practice.

How this course builds on Basic to Intermediate training

The 200-hour Basic to Intermediate Hatha Yoga course develops a foundation in practice and teaching. This 300-hour course takes those skills further through intermediate and advanced asana variations, more detailed observation and alignment work, and the development of teaching sequences. Students refine familiar techniques while learning how to prepare for more complex postures without forcing movement.

What you will learn

  • Progressive preparation for intermediate and advanced Hatha yoga postures.
  • Applied anatomy, body awareness and alignment principles.
  • Variations and modifications for different abilities and limitations.
  • Effective use of props and clear posture demonstrations.
  • Teaching cues, observation skills and constructive feedback.
  • Sequencing and class planning for different levels of practice.

Level 1: Foundations of Advanced Hatha Yoga

Explore Hatha yoga philosophy and traditional practice alongside the anatomical principles that support safe movement. Refine foundational alignment and study warm-ups and preparatory practices that develop strength, flexibility and body awareness. Guided onsite practice allows you to ask questions and receive direct feedback as you prepare for more demanding asanas.

Level 2: Intermediate and Advanced Asana Practice

Study intermediate and advanced posture variations through progressive practice. Learn to recognise individual ranges of movement, adapt postures and select appropriate modifications. The emphasis is on improving control, stamina and precision while respecting physical limitations and avoiding strain.

Level 3: Teaching Methodology, Props and Sequencing

Develop the skills to demonstrate and teach the practices covered in the earlier levels. Explore verbal cueing, observation, corrections, partner variations and the use of straps, chairs and other props. Practise designing coherent sequences with suitable preparation, progression and concluding practices, and develop your confidence through teaching practice and feedback.
