The highly anticipated annual teacher training course will be a full-time residential yoga course coupled with a heritage tour in the study of Thirumoolar's Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, Natural Therapy and Yogic Diet.

This Teacher training programme offers a unique learning experience with one of India’s foremost family lineages in Andiappan Yoga.

100 hours Yoga Course and Certification

  • 7:00 to 9:00 Andiappan Yoga Practice
  • 10.00 to 13:00  Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda
  • 16:00 to 18:30 Yoga Practicals
  • On alternate days, there will be kirtan, meditation and mantra chanting sessions.

Course Faculty

Dr. Yogananth Andiappan will be teaching only from 1st – 9th March 2020. 

From 1st – 9th March 2020, most of the practical and theory classes as well as the heritage tour will be lead by Master Yogananth Andiappan, along with the team of Andiappan Yoga Teachers.

The classes for the additional hours which will total 200 hours and 300 hours will be conducted by the faculties of the Andiappan Yoga School.

For the additional hours of learning after the tour,  Food charges are not included in the fee. Student can pay Rs. 800 per day at the Andiappan Yoga School upon arrival on 9th of March 2020..  Students can also make their own food arrangements outside for the additional days as there are various organic restaurant and cafes nearby the school.


Accommodation will be arranged and allotted on a first come first serve basis.  Anyone sharing the room with a friend need to put in the request by providing the student’s name during the registration.  Rooms allotments with friend’s request will be given subject to the availability.

If you would like to opt for the RYT 200 hours Certification, you can continue to study with the Andiappan Yoga School in the Anna Nagar location and to stay for an additional 9 days from 10th – 18th March 2020  to complete the 200 hours  Intensive Yoga Therapy or 200 hours Intensive Hatha Yoga (Intermediate to Advance Level) Teacher Training Course.  You can choose to study either one of this course and receive the certification.

If you would like to opt for the 300 hours Certification, they can continue to study with Andiappan Yoga School in Anna Nagar Location and stay for additional 17 days from 10th – 26th March 2020 to complete the 300 hours Intensive Yoga Therapy or 300 hours Intensive Hatha Yoga (Intermediate to Advance Level) Teacher Training Course.  You can choose to study either one of this course and receive the certification.

Once payment is received, a confirmation email will be send to you together with the official payment invoice to show the confirmation of the course admission.

Accommodation

Please note the classes held from 1st – 8th March 2020 will be held at the MGM resort, Chennai.  From the 8th march, the group will be travelling to various yoga heritage places and will return to Chennai only on the 9th March 2020.

For those who have enrolled for 200 hours or the 300 hour course, they will continue at the Andiappan Yoga School.  Accommodation will be arranged at the school itself or nearby the school as per availability.  The classes will be held at the Andiappan Yoga School and as per the class schedule.

Where is Chennai and what is it like?

A:    Chennai is one of India’s tourist-friendly places; a well-developed city, and home to various multinational companies such as PayPal, Nokia, Samsung, Hyundai, and Ford, as well as many 5-Star hotels.  It is safe to travel to Chennai.  In fact, it is among the top travel destinations for students across the world who wish to learn yoga in India.

The Asana Andiappan College of Yoga and Research Centre is located in the prominent locality of Anna Nagar, where many of the country’s state ministers and high-profile government officials reside.  Surrounding the campus are banks, shopping malls, and tourist attractions, as well as a bus terminal and train station within walking distance.

Q: I am prepared to come to India for the course. How is airport pickup arranged?

A:  Send us your flight itinerary. We will have an officer / driver waiting at the airport holding a sign with the college logo and your name. You will find the officer at the arrival hall after custom clearance.

Before your flight, please make sure that you have applied for an Indian Visa. All passports need a tourist visa to enter India. You can get a  regular e-tourist visa to study this course.

Q:  Is your school accredited by Yoga Alliance USA?  Can I apply for a Yoga Alliance Registration upon completion of my course?

A:  All our teacher training programs are registered with Yoga Alliance USA, and yes, students may apply for registration upon completion of the 200 hours course.  However, successful course completion requires submitting an assignment, which is scheduled at the end of every training period.  Students who qualify are then granted a Course Graduation Certificate, which is registered with Yoga Alliance USA (RYS 200, 300 & 500 and ERYT 500, RPYS and RCYS), as well as Asana Andiappan College of Yoga and Research Centre and the International Yoga Academy. Only then, upon receipt of the Certificate, can students register with Yoga Alliance and assistance can be provided.

I am visiting India for the first time. Is it safe for me to attend this training and tour?

Learning yoga in India is definitely interesting and fascinating.  Andiappan Yoga India has been running these residential yoga courses in India for over thirty years and are very experienced in teaching and accommodating foreign students.  Every month, there are numerous students from around the world attending the residential yoga courses.  The college strive its best to provide the students with an authentic learning experience.  Food safety, travel and accommodation are taken into consideration and participants will not need to worry.  A private coach with driver has been arranged.  There will be  assistants and yoga masters travelling with the group throughout the trip who will be happy to assist.

If you just join the tour and the 100hrs training you will receive a certification Intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Certificate Course.

If you would like to opt for the RYT 200 hours Certification, you can continue to study with the Andiappan Yoga School in the Anna Nagar location and to stay for an additional 9 days from 10th – 18th March 2020 to complete the 200 hours  Intensive Yoga Therapy or 200 hours Intensive Hatha Yoga (Intermediate to Advance Level) Teacher Training Course.  You can choose to study either one of this course and receive the certification.
